A little piece of Portsmouth history restored
The Sails of the South on the M275 underwent a major refurbishment, with work beginning on 10 February 2026 and completed on 20 May 2026. All 27 sail panels were replaced, structural improvements were carried out, and the lighting was upgraded to help preserve this iconic gateway to our city for years to come.
